Twenty rare ducks each with a radio transmitter released into a thickly vegetated wetland soon showed us the difficulties of monitoring the signals using standard land-based techniques. X-craft were able to develop our request for signal detection from the air, and worked through the technical requirements for this novel use at all times clearly informing us of progress. and the projected capability of the craft.. Their custom design and build led to the “Duckatron”, an aerial platform for detecting signals. Field trials undertaken showed the proof of concept and further development is being investigated to monitor multiple transmissions simultaneously. A prompt response and a professional result was also the outcome when we requested an aerial video as part of a funding appeal. X-craft filmed our wetland and forest area and the impressive cinematography and editing, has attracted a lot of positive feedback.

I just wanted to thank you again for the great work that you have undertaken for us in relation to flood damage assessment. There was very short notice for you to mobilise resources and we understood that you had to re-prioritise existing commitments to collect the information we needed. This technology appears to be going through a period of rapid development and X-Craft is well positioned to remain at the forefront of this due to your apparent enthusiasm to develop new innovative techniques and applications. Given that the use of this technology is relatively new it can be quite challenging to prepare a work brief. We appreciate your time and effort to understand our job requirements and ensure a positive outcome for our client.
